The Shiller Case Homes Price Index seeks to measure the price of all existing single-family housing stock. Based on the pioneering research of Robert J. Shiller  Shiller, a 2013 Nobel laureate in economics, is Professor of Economics at Yale University and the co-creator of the Case-Shiller Index of US house prices. He is

In the early 1990s, he and fellow economist Karl Case developed a repeat-sales index using home sales prices data from across the US.

These Indices are based on original work by economists Karl Case and Robert Shiller, in which their team calculated the home price index back to 1890.
